What is a bicycle and pedestrian master plan?

A bicycle and pedestrian master plan is a document that is created through collaboration between citizens, planners, and city leaders. The plan guides local government and the public to include and improve infrastructure for walking and biking. The plan applies a pro-active and purposeful approach to create a safer and more convenient place for people to walk and bicycle.  The result is a tool that strategically guides future capital investments and policies for transportation alternatives to vehicles.

Will these plans integrate with other regional plans?

The master plans will remain in alliance with and support the following plans and ordinances:

Where will the plans have an impact?

Each plan’s study area includes the entirety of the city limits. The cities’ citizens and stakeholders, the project’s Technical Advisory Committees, and the planning team will provide input on selecting the routes and intersections that will benefit from the master plans.
